Building a Strategy and Turning It into Action

The work gave the organisation a clearer shared direction and, importantly, a practical structure for turning that direction into action.

The challenge

After ten years of growth, an established international school had reached a point where it needed greater clarity about its future direction. The organisation had grown without a formal strategy and needed to align its leadership around where it wanted to go next and how it would get there.

How we worked

TPP worked closely with the school's leadership to understand its context, ambitions and challenges before facilitating the development of an organisation-wide strategy.

Once the strategy was developed, we helped translate it into clear priorities, workstreams and activities. We then remained alongside the school to support implementation – establishing programme governance and providing ongoing project management, coaching and advisory support.

What changed

The work gave the organisation a clearer shared direction and, importantly, a practical structure for turning that direction into action.

Supporting Organisational Change and Renewal

Civil Society, Africa

The Challenge

An established African civil society organisation was considering how it needed to evolve for its next chapter. This required thinking not only about strategic direction, but also about succession, organisational structures, people and the capabilities required for the future.

How We Worked

TPP supported the organisation across interconnected areas of strategy and organisational development. The work included helping articulate and package the organisational strategy, exploring succession and continuity, reviewing how work was organised, and considering how people practices could better support the organisation's future direction.

Our approach recognised that organisational change could not be addressed through structure alone. It required understanding the organisation's history, people, relationships and ambitions together.

Impact

The engagement helped create a more integrated view of organisational change, connecting strategic ambition with the people, structures and capabilities required to deliver it and creating a stronger foundation for the organisation's next phase.

Creating Space for Women to Navigate Academic Careers

Higher Education, Africa

The Challenge

Women pursuing academic careers can encounter complex professional and institutional challenges that are not always addressed through conventional training or career development programmes.

A group of 19 female academics needed a different kind of space, one that allowed them to reflect on their experiences, aspirations and challenges while learning from others navigating similar environments.

How We Worked

TPP designed and facilitated a coaching-based programme organised around four smaller groups.

Using principles from the AYA approach, participants explored their individual aspirations and challenges alongside the wider institutional environments in which they worked. The sessions created space for reflection, peer learning and conversations about the relationships, systems and barriers influencing their careers.

Rather than prescribing a single path forward, the process helped participants examine their own context and identify what progress could look like for them.

Impact

Participants were able to step away from their day-to-day environments to reflect more deliberately on their careers, identify challenges and opportunities, and develop greater clarity about how they wanted to navigate their next steps.
