Whatwe believe.

Our work is guided by a few core beliefs about how organisations and teams work and how lasting change happens.

  1. A man looking out over Accra and the Black Star Gate

    context matters.

Organisations and teams do not operate in isolation. Their choices are shaped by their wider environment, people, relationships and capabilities. Understanding that context is essential to making good decisions.

  2. A team mapping ideas on a wall of sticky notes

the answers are often already in the room.

The people closest to a challenge usually hold important parts of the solution. Our role is to create the conditions for them to think critically, challenge assumptions, surface difficult issues and bring different perspectives together.

  3. Colleagues deep in conversation outside

    relationships shape organisations.

Strategies, structures and processes matter, but so do the relationships between the people responsible for making them work.

  4. A facilitator talking a group through self-awareness and team dynamics

    leading change starts with ourselves.

The capabilities, assumptions and habits of leaders and teams can enable progress or quietly hold it back. We help people see themselves clearly, so they can lead with greater awareness and intent.

  5. A team looking over plans together at the Black Star Gate

change is stronger when people own it.

We design our work so that solutions are developed with our clients rather than simply delivered to them. This creates greater ownership and strengthens the organisation's ability to continue the work after we leave.

  6. A facilitator taking a team through a strategy session

    building capability, not dependency.

Our aim is to leave organisations and leaders better equipped to understand their challenges, make decisions and lead change themselves.

These beliefs are at the heart of AYA, the approach behind everything we do.
